Depart from Venice and see
the mountains and lakes of the Dolomites in a day
Depart by air-conditioned minivan from Piazzale Roma, a large square in central Venice. After a drive of over 1 hour 30 minutes, arrive at your first stop, Pieve di Cadore, and spend about 30 minutes exploring this historic town with a viewpoint over Lake Centro Cadore.
Visit Lake Auronzo and Lake Misurina
Next, head to Auronzo and take photos at the lake dam for about 15 minutes. Sometimes you can see water pouring through the dam gates. Then stay about 2 hours 15 minutes at Lake Misurina, known as the 'Pearl of the Dolomites', walking around the lake and having lunch at a restaurant serving local food (meal not included).
In summer, you can rent a small boat on the lake or take the panoramic chairlift up to the Col de Varda viewpoint (at extra cost).
Stroll the streets of Cortina d'Ampezzo
Finally, drive to Cortina d'Ampezzo, host of the 2026 Winter Olympics, and spend about 1 hour there. Stroll and shop along Corso Italia, the Dolomites' signature pedestrian street, then return to Piazzale Roma in Venice after a drive of about 2 hours 10 minutes.
