This kimono and matcha tea ceremony experience takes place at Japanese Modern N6 Kita-Maruyama in Sapporo and lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes. It is guided in English or Japanese and held as a private group for your party only.

Start by choosing a kimono you like from a carefully selected collection. With an expert's help, get dressed with every detail in place and feel the structure, texture and quiet elegance of traditional Japanese clothing.

Take photos in a modern space with traditional crafts

After dressing, spend time in a stylish modern Japanese-style space where traditional crafts from all over Japan are displayed in a museum-like setting. Take photos at your own pace, browse the artisan works and soak up the Japanese atmosphere.

Watch matcha being prepared in a tatami tea room

In the latter part of the experience, your guide takes you to a private tea room where you sit on tatami mats. Watch the careful, meditative process of preparing matcha, Japan's traditional powdered green tea, right before your eyes.

Taste freshly whisked matcha with traditional sweets

Freshly whisked matcha is served with traditional tea ceremony sweets chosen to complement its slight bitterness. Savor the tea and sweets slowly while wearing your kimono and experience the Japanese tradition of tea time, cherished in Japanese culture for centuries. The activity ends back at the meeting point.
