Hualien Taroko Gorge & Qingshui Cliff Day Tour

Head to Taroko National Park
in a 9-seat van

After departing from Hualien Railway Station, stop first at the Taroko National Park Visitor Center to learn about the geological history of the area. As you drive into the gorge, pause at scenic spots to take in the views and pass through the Shakadang Tunnel area. A guide who speaks English and Chinese accompanies you throughout the day in an air-conditioned 9-seat vehicle.

Walk to Xiangde Temple and the gorge forest trails

Cross a suspension bridge to Xiangde Temple on the mountainside, then take an easy walk along the Tabido forest trail and Wen Tianxiang Park to enjoy the nature of the gorge. You will also have time for photos at the iconic Taroko Gorge Archway.

Have lunch in Xincheng and visit the church

Move on to the historic Xincheng Old Street for a relaxed lunch. You can also try local snacks such as freshly squeezed cold lemonade. After lunch, walk with your guide to Xincheng Catholic Church, built on the site of a former Japanese shrine, and hear about the layered history of Taiwan.

Meet the sea at Qingshui Cliff and Qixingtan Beach

In the afternoon, head to the coast and admire the huge marble walls dropping into the turquoise sea from the Qingshui Cliff viewpoint. Finally, stroll along the pebble shore of Qixingtan Beach and listen to the waves before returning to Hualien Railway Station.
