Meet 51 full dinosaur skeletons
in the dome exhibition hall
The permanent exhibition hall is a 4,500 m² pillarless dome. It displays 51 full dinosaur skeletons, 10 of which are real fossils, so you can get a close-up sense of their size and shape.
Explore dinosaurs and Earth's history across three zones
The hall is divided into three zones: The World of Dinosaurs, Earth Sciences and History of Life. Through dinosaur skeletons, fossils, specimens, dioramas and reconstructed models, you can explore the world of dinosaurs, geology and paleontology.
A large three-screen video and visible storage
There is a large three-screen video showing life-sized dinosaurs in motion and a space where you can look into the storage room where specimens are kept. A fossil research experience, where you can try fossil research yourself, is offered year-round.

How to get there:
About 15 minutes by bus or about 10 minutes by taxi from Katsuyama Station on the Echizen Railway Katsuyama Eiheiji Line. By car, it is about 30 minutes from Fukui-Kita JCT on the Hokuriku Expressway and about 1 hour 30 minutes from Shirotori JCT/IC on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway. Paid on-site parking is available; reservations are not accepted.
