The Tang Dynasty Palace in Xi'an is a theater that has staged Tang-era performances since 1988. As you enter, the golden dragon-carved hall, lavish silk curtains and murals of imperial musicians and dancers create the atmosphere of the Tang court. The experience lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Follow the story of Wu Zetian on a holographic stage

The show begins with the sound of a grand bell as holograms transform the stage into a Tang imperial palace. The story of the young Wu Zetian unfolds through dance, martial arts and storytelling, with live English subtitles throughout. Highlights include a thrilling battle scene and the final ascension to the throne, and after the show you can take photos with the performers.

Relax with a dumpling banquet

With the dumpling banquet option, enjoy a dinner of more than 10 intricately shaped dumplings before the show. Live music on ancient instruments such as the Tang-style panpipe is played during the meal, and since dinner and the show take place in the same venue, there is no need to rush. Muslim and vegetarian travelers are welcome.

Normally there is one session a day: dinner 18:30–19:30 and show 19:30–20:30. In peak season there may be two sessions a day: session 1 (dinner 17:00–17:45, show 17:45–18:50) or session 2 (dinner 19:10–20:10, show 20:10–21:15). Any change will be announced 2 days in advance.
