This is an admission ticket to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan. See the enormous seated Maitreya Buddha carved into the cliff up close, and walk down the plank path alongside the statue to see its surface, weathered over the centuries. Explore the scenic area
and meet the giant seated Maitreya Buddha
The Leshan Giant Buddha is a seated Maitreya Buddha carved into a cliff. See its 14.7 m head with 1,021 round curls, its 6.7 m ears big enough for several people, and its 8.5 m feet that can seat 100 people. The gentle smile and flowing robes show the fine craftsmanship of Tang dynasty stone carving.
Walk down the plank path beside the Buddha
Walk down the Nine-Turn Plank Road along the cliff to see the weathered stone texture right next to the statue. You get a different sense of its scale than when looking down from above.
View the Buddha from a boat on the river
With cruise options, you take a boat for about 30 minutes and look up at the entire Leshan Giant Buddha from the river. It is a great way to take in the statue seated between the mountain and the river at a glance.
Visit Lingbao Pagoda and nearby sights
Climb Lingbao Pagoda for views over the Buddha, the river and Leshan city. You can also explore old stone carvings nearby, Wuyou Temple, and the mountain said to look like a reclining Buddha, experiencing Sichuan's Buddhist culture.
