Guilin Yangshuo: Qixian Peak Tea Picking & Green Tea Making Experience with Tasting

The experience begins at the Qixian Peak tea garden, located on the misty highland karst mountains of Yangshuo. Guided by a local farmer, you learn how to choose the tender tea buds grown in spring or autumn and pick them yourself. You can also enjoy the scenery as you walk among the layered green tea terraces.

Make green tea the traditional way with an artisan

In the processing workshop, you go through the traditional green tea process with an artisan: withering, hand-roasting, rolling and final drying. The slightly cooled leaves are kneaded and rolled by hand to press out the juices, shaping them into firm, neat strips. The shaped tea is then slowly baked to remove the remaining moisture, and finally the artisan sorts the finished tea by size into grades.

Taste your own green tea and learn about tea culture

After processing, a calm tea tasting session follows. Along with the green tea you picked and made yourself, you can taste different grades of the garden's own organic "Cuiyu" green teas, including Maojian, Longjing and Biluochun. A tea expert shares stories about local tea culture, tea brewing etiquette and mountain-grown green tea.
