Dujiangyan & Mount Qingcheng Day Tour from Chengdu - Small Group with Hotel Pickup

From Chengdu, visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites,
Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng, in one day

In the morning, your guide picks you up in the lobby of your hotel in central Chengdu. You visit Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng by car and then return to Chengdu. The tour runs in a small group of up to 10 people, and the guide speaks English and Chinese.

Walk through the 2,200-year-old Dujiangyan Irrigation System

After about an hour's drive from your hotel, you arrive at the Dujiangyan Scenic Area and spend about 2 hours and 30 minutes exploring this water conservancy system with your guide. Dujiangyan controls the river without a dam and still supplies water to the vast farmland of the Chengdu Plain.

With your guide's explanations, learn how its three parts, the fish-mouth-shaped levee Yuzui, the sand-discharging Feishayan, and the bottleneck-shaped channel Baopingkou, regulate the flow of water from the mountains to the plains all year round.

Climb the Taoist Mount Qingcheng and walk its forest trails

After Dujiangyan, drive to Mount Qingcheng. Take a one-way cable car (at your own expense) up the mountain and spend about 3 hours and 30 minutes in the afternoon exploring this Taoist holy site. Mount Qingcheng is one of China's most notable Taoist mountains, and its tranquil atmosphere surrounded by evergreen forests has earned it the nickname "the most secluded mountain under heaven."

After the visit, drive back to Chengdu, where the tour ends at Tianfu Square in the city center.
