After pickup from your hotel in Xi'an, drive about 2.5 hours to Mount Hua. An English-speaking guide explains the routes and handles tickets and cable car boarding. The guide does not ride the cable car up with you and waits at the foot of the mountain when you come down in the afternoon.

Loop route: up the West Peak, down the North Peak

Take the shuttle bus from the visitor center to the West Peak cable car station and ride up. Walk West Peak → South Peak → East Peak → Central Peak → North Peak, then ride the North Peak cable car down. This route never retraces its steps and suits travelers with good fitness (difficulty 4 stars).

West Peak round trip and North Peak round trip

The West Peak round trip goes up by the West Peak cable car, loops West Peak → South Peak → East Peak → Central Peak → West Peak and comes back down by the West Peak cable car. It is relatively relaxed and suits families and older travelers (difficulty 3 stars).

The North Peak round trip goes up by the North Peak cable car, via North Peak → Central Peak → West Peak → South Peak → East Peak → Central Peak, and back down by the North Peak cable car. It involves the most walking and suits hiking enthusiasts (difficulty 5 stars).

Come down the mountain and return to Xi'an

After descending, gather at the agreed place and return to Xi'an. The group tour's return is a shared bus departing between 16:30 and 18:00 once full. Group tours do not drop off at hotels; you'll get off near the Xi'an Bell Tower.
