Start in Sapa, walk the Muong Hoa Valley
and return by car via a viewpoint
Meet your local guide in Sapa and walk down into the Muong Hoa Valley on this trek of about 6 hours. Walk past Lao Chai to Ta Van, then ride back to Sapa by car (about 45 minutes) with a stop at a viewpoint. The tour is guided in English.
Descend into the valley toward Y Linh Ho
Leave Sapa and head down the valley toward Y Linh Ho. As the town fades behind you, a landscape of mountains, streams, rice terraces and small village paths opens up. Your local guide explains the traditional houses, the terraces shaped by generations of farming and the daily life of mountain communities.
Walk past Lao Chai to Ta Van Village
Continue past Lao Chai deeper into the valley. The trail winds between rice terraces and village paths, alternating between views framed by mountains and wide-open valley scenery. There are breaks for rest and photos along the way. The trek ends in Ta Van Village.
Look back over the valley from a viewpoint
From Ta Van, rather than retracing your steps, return to Sapa by car. As the road climbs, stop at a viewpoint to look back over the rice terraces, villages and trails you just walked.
