Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave in one day

After pickup from your accommodation in Yogyakarta, drive 1.5 to 2 hours to Jomblang Cave in Gunungkidul. Spend about 4 to 5 hours at Jomblang Cave for the descent, cave trek, and lunch, then move on to Pindul Cave for tubing before returning to your accommodation in the city.

The whole tour takes about 10 hours. It is a small-group tour of up to 5 people with an English-speaking guide.

Descend into Jomblang Cave by rope

At the parking area, check in at a hut with toilets, coffee, and tea, and receive boots and a helmet. After a safety briefing, the guide team fits you with a harness and lowers you to the cave floor, while the team photographers capture your descent.

See the light pouring into the cave

On the cave floor, walk about 10 to 15 minutes along muddy and sometimes slippery paths into the heart of the cave. Watch sunlight stream down like a pillar through the opening above.

Afterward, a team pulls each visitor back up to the surface by rope. Once at the top, wash up and relax over a simple lunch.

Float through Pindul Cave on a tube

At Pindul Cave, get on a tube and float slowly along the emerald water while admiring stalactites and stalagmites. As you leave the cave, pass a waterfall flowing into the Oyo River to finish the adventure.

※ Jomblang Cave admits only 80 visitors a day, so booking ahead is recommended, especially in the peak season (June to September).
