Walk Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street and Hongya Cave

Walk along Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, where a lively street food culture thrives among high-rises with luxury brands and shopping malls. You can try local snacks such as spicy Chongqing noodles or tanghulu, a candied fruit treat.

Next, head to the 11-story Hongya Cave, inspired by the traditional stilt houses of the Bashu region. It is filled with traditional shops, teahouses and restaurants, and at night warm orange lights illuminate the building and reflect on the Jialing River.

See where two rivers meet from Qiansimen Bridge and Chaotianmen

Cross Qiansimen Bridge and enjoy night views of the glowing Hongya Cave against the city's skyscrapers. Follow Nanbin Road to the viewpoint at Bell and Drum Tower Square to see the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, the bridge over the water, and distant views of Hongya Cave and Chaotianmen.

Finally, visit Chaotianmen, the gateway where the two rivers meet, and take in the wide river views and city skyline.
