Highlights
This tour takes you kayaking through the mangrove forest of Ao Thalane in Krabi in the early morning. You leave your hotel at 7:30 a.m. and head to the quiet forest before the crowds arrive, so you can hear birdsong and the sounds of wildlife up close as the forest wakes up. With a local guide, you paddle for about 2 hours through canyons and caves between limestone cliffs. After the tour, you can relax with Thai snacks, coffee and seasonal fruit, and you can choose between a small group or a private guide.
Program
Early morning hotel pickup
and transfer to the Ao Thalane kayak point
You are picked up at your hotel at 7:30 a.m. and travel about 30–40 minutes to the kayak starting point. On arrival, you receive instructions and tips so you can kayak comfortably and safely, and the guide explains the mangrove forest and the surrounding nature.
Paddle through mangroves and limestone canyons
Paddle through the mangrove forest to explore limestone caves and canyons, and enter the lagoon when the tide is high. The route covers 5–7 km over about 2 hours.
Passing through the forest, canyons and the Crocodile Cave, you can admire limestone cliffs and lush forest scenery, and enjoy a swim along the way. The guide also helps you take photos, and if you are lucky you may spot wildlife such as monkeys.
Finish with Thai snacks and return to your hotel
When you return from kayaking, traditional Thai snacks, coffee and fresh fruit are waiting for you. After a short rest, you are taken back to your hotel.
