Departing from Sapporo, this tour visits winter highlights of Biei and Furano in one day and ends with an evening stroll under the lights of Ningle Terrace. Stop at the Biei Christmas Tree standing alone in a snowy field, Chiyoda Farm where you can meet alpacas and deer and try a snowmobile ride, Shirahige Waterfall which turns into an ice waterfall in winter, and the Blue Pond known for its mysterious colors. You travel between attractions by coach, so there is no need to research public transportation. Departing late in the morning and returning to Sapporo around 9:00 PM, you can enjoy winter scenery both at dusk and at night.
Check in at 10:30 AM at the bus parking lot by the North Exit of Sapporo Station; departure is at 10:40 AM. After about 2 hours 30 minutes, the first stop is the Biei Christmas Tree. Known as "the loneliest Christmas tree in the world", it stands alone in an endless snowfield. Spend about 30 minutes taking photos.
You travel between all attractions by a 22–49-seater coach with a guide who leads the schedule. This is a shared tour on a fixed schedule.
Spend about 100 minutes freely at this snow-covered farm. Meet animals such as alpacas and deer, and enjoy snow play and farm food in the snowy forest scenery. A snowmobile ride is available at an extra cost paid on site. Lunch is on your own at the attractions, at your own expense.
Shirahige Waterfall is named for its water flowing softly like a white beard. In winter, you can see the ice waterfall frozen in mid-flow and the blue water below. You'll stay about 20 minutes.
Next, spend about 30 minutes at the Blue Pond. This artificial pond was created in connection with the 1988 eruption of Mt. Tokachidake, and minerals in the water give it shades of aquamarine, emerald green and cobalt blue. In winter, Biei Town holds a light-up here.
The last stop is Ningle Terrace, planned by writer So Kuramoto. More than ten handicraft shops line a walking trail in the dense forest, where you can see artisans' works such as pinwheels, kaleidoscopes, wood carvings and candles. After about 60 minutes, head back to Sapporo, arriving near the bus parking lot at Sapporo Station North Exit around 9:00 PM.
※ The itinerary is for reference only; the order of visits and time at each stop may change depending on conditions on the day.
※ The Blue Pond light-up start time varies by month, so it may not have started at the time of your visit, and it may be canceled in bad weather.
