Bangtao Surf School is run by a local family born and raised by the ocean. Instructors who know the waves well tailor each lesson to your level, so both first-timers and surfers looking to improve can learn comfortably. The gentle waves suit beginners, and the beach is a safe spot for kids too. The school is about 25 minutes from Phuket International Airport and is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

1.5-hour group or private surf lessons

After a beach safety briefing and warm-up, you surf for 1.5 hours. Surfboard and equipment are included, and instructors speak Thai and English. Choose between a group lesson or a one-on-one private lesson. Surfing is only available during Phuket's surf season, from May to November.

Enjoy SUP on calm water

With a SUP board and paddle, learn stand-up paddleboarding with an English- or Thai-speaking instructor. Options include a 1-hour basic lesson, a 1.5-hour sunset lesson to enjoy the sunset views, and a 2-hour adventure lesson with snorkeling. The sunset lesson also includes reef-safe sunscreen and drinking water.
