This full-day guided tour takes you through the countryside villages of Vang Vieng by mountain bike, visiting Tham Poukham Cave and Blue Lagoon 1. Cross the Nam Song River bridge into the jungle scenery and ride the roughly 30 km Blue Lagoon Loop through countryside rarely visited by tourists. Climb up to Tham Poukham Cave to see the religious statue inside, and cool off with a swim at Blue Lagoon 1. Lunch, entrance fees to the Blue Lagoon and Tham Poukham Cave, and a bike and helmet are included.
Program
Head out to the Vang Vieng countryside
by mountain bike
Depart from Vang Vieng at 9:00 AM. Follow your experienced guide by mountain bike out of town, cross the Nam Song River bridge and ride off-road into the jungle scenery.
Climb up to Tham Poukham Cave and find its hidden statue
Climb up the mountain to Tham Poukham Cave, where you can see the religious statue enshrined inside.
Take a break with a swim at Blue Lagoon 1
Stop at Blue Lagoon 1, Vang Vieng's signature attraction, to cool off in the water and rest your legs. It's a good idea to bring a swimsuit and towel.
Ride the Blue Lagoon Loop past local villages
Get back on your bike and ride the roughly 30 km Blue Lagoon Loop, including rough dirt roads. There is plenty of time for breaks and photos along the way, and you pass through small local villages to learn about the local culture and way of life. After the loop, return to Vang Vieng town and finish around 4:00 PM.
