Luang Prabang Nam Ou & Mekong River Guided Mountain Bike Tour with Lunch Buffet

After pickup from your hotel in central Luang Prabang, enjoy about 5 hours of mountain biking, village visits, and a lunch buffet. An English-speaking guide accompanies you, and the bike, safety gear, drinking water, and entrance fees are included. There is also an option that adds afternoon kayaking to Pak Ou Caves and a Mekong sunset cruise.

Ride 14 km starting from the whisky village

Travel by van from your hotel to Ban Xang Hai, known as the whisky village, where you get a Trek Marlin 7 mountain bike and safety gear. The route of about 14 km follows the Nam Ou and Mekong rivers past rice fields, charming villages, and temples.

The course mixes paved roads and off-road dirt tracks, with rolling hills and a climb of about 100 m. You do not need to be a pro, but a moderate fitness level is recommended. A support truck follows the whole route, so you can hop on whenever a hill gets too tough or you want a break.

Stop at local villages, a school, and a market

Guided by an English-speaking guide, stop at local villages, a primary school (on weekdays), and a market along the way to see Lao daily life and culture up close.

Have lunch at an elephant camp by the river

After the ride, freshen up with a shower and enjoy a lunch buffet at Manifa Elephant Camp overlooking the river.

Continue the day with kayaking and a sunset cruise

With the kayaking and sunset cruise option, after lunch you kayak on the Nam Ou River to visit Pak Ou Caves, then return to Luang Prabang on a Mekong sunset boat cruise of about 1.5 hours. The Pak Ou Caves entrance fee is not included and is paid on site.
