Explore Tsurugajo Castle in Aizuwakamatsu
This is a child ticket to Tsurugajo Castle (Aizuwakamatsu Castle) in Otemachi, Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, and the Rinkaku tea room.
Hours of use are 08:30–17:00, with last admission at 16:30.
A keep museum of weapons and armor
The inside of the keep is a museum displaying weapons, armor and historical artifacts. Learn about samurai history and the role Tsurugajo played in the Boshin War.
From the top, you can see Aizuwakamatsu city and the surrounding mountains.
A walk through 600 years of history
Tsurugajo was first built more than 600 years ago. It is known for its red-tiled roof, which is rare among Japanese castles.
Walk the castle grounds with their stone walls and moats, with cherry blossoms in spring and snowy views in winter.
