Highlights
Admire the works of picture book artist Yoh Shomei at the Yoh Shomei Art Museum in a quiet neighborhood of Kita-Kamakura, Kanagawa. In the permanent exhibition room on the first floor, about 80 original paintings are shown, changing six times a year, and the second floor features works for each season. Paintings inspired by nature, landscapes and rural life invite you into the world of picture books in a calm atmosphere. Visit the Yoh Shomei Art Museum
This is an admission ticket to the Yoh Shomei Art Museum in Yamanouchi, Kamakura, Kanagawa, a small museum displaying original works by picture book artist Yoh Shomei.
Opening hours are 10:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:30. Open year-round.
Original paintings that change with the seasons
The permanent exhibition room on the first floor shows about 80 original paintings, changing six times a year. In the second-floor galleries, you can see different works each season.
Paintings inspired by nature, landscapes and rural life create a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
A picture-book courtyard
Six large American sweetgum trees stand in the courtyard, and white hydrangeas or white roses bloom with the seasons, guiding visitors into the world of picture books.
