When you arrive at base camp, you'll be outfitted with a winter jacket, snow pants, mitts and boots. Meet the huskies who will pull your sled, learn about their personalities and roles, and get a lesson in mushing from your guide. No dog sledding experience is needed; all the training you need is provided.
Drive the sled with a professional musher
The custom-built sled has a dual handlebar system, so while you lead the team, a professional musher stands right behind you holding the second handlebar. Feel the power and rhythm of a 10-husky team as you glide through quiet forests and sparkling snowfields. The experience is led by a musher with a background in long-distance sled dog racing in Canada.
Take photos in the snow and switch places
Pause along the way for photos against the Yukon winter scenery, and swap places so everyone gets a turn driving. When it's time to go, enjoy a thrilling run back to base camp with the excited huskies.
Warm up with hot cocoa and bond with the dogs
After the ride, warm up with hot cocoa and chat with your fellow participants. Meet dogs at every stage of life, from energetic working dogs to retired veterans, and hear how they are trained and cared for. Depending on the season, you may also meet puppies.
