The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi and The Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi face each other in the Al Qana district, just a few steps apart. With the combo ticket you can visit both on the same day, and your visit always starts at the National Aquarium. Both are indoor venues, making them a great way to spend the day without worrying about the midday heat or the weather.
10 Themed Zones at the National Aquarium
The National Aquarium is home to more than 46,000 marine and freshwater animals across 10 themed zones. Discover untouched ocean ecosystems in the National Geographic Pristine Seas exhibit, and walk across the glass bridge to look down at the creatures swimming beneath your feet. The aquarium's wildlife rescue program, which cares for injured animals, is also introduced.
Butterfly Gardens in Tropical Biodomes
After the aquarium, head across to The Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi. Inside two biodomes modeled on the rainforests of Asia and the Americas, more than 10,000 butterflies fly freely. Enjoy the feeling of walking through a forest as butterflies flutter close by.
Sloths and Rainforest Animals
Besides butterflies, the gardens are home to rainforest species such as the two-toed sloth, the Palawan binturong and the grizzled giant squirrel. It is a great choice for families traveling with children and for anyone who loves animals.
