Spend 2 hours at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, admiring its white marble domes and intricate floral decorations while learning about Islamic culture and traditions. Get a glimpse of Emirati life before the discovery of oil at the Heritage Village, and browse local dates and snacks at the Dates Market. Program
Start from your hotel and
explore the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
After pickup from your hotel in Abu Dhabi, travel by bus for about 40 minutes to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Spend about 2 hours here seeing the dazzling white marble domes, intricate floral designs and the huge handmade carpet. Your guide explains Islamic culture and traditions.
Pass Yas Island and Saadiyat Island to see modern Abu Dhabi
Drive past Yas Island, home to attractions and leisure facilities, and the man-made Saadiyat Island. You won't get off here, but you can take in the modern side of Abu Dhabi from the window.
Stop at the Dates Market and the Heritage Village
At the Dates Market at Zayed Port, spend about 20 minutes browsing, tasting or buying a variety of Emirati dates. It's a good place to pick up gifts or souvenirs, and you'll learn about the importance of dates in Emirati culture. Then spend about 20 minutes at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Village, exploring the recreated desert camp, artisan workshops and exhibits that show traditional life before the discovery of oil.
Drive along the Corniche to finish the tour
Drive along the Abu Dhabi Corniche, lined with turquoise sea, gardens, high-rises and hotels, and pass by the Emirates Palace. At the end of the tour, you'll be dropped off at your hotel in Abu Dhabi.
