The Pompeii tour was excellent. The tour guide, an archaeologist from the University who works at the site made it informative and interesting. The coach was very comfortable, and there were well timed rest stops. Limoncello factory visit was fun too. Too much time was wasted going to Sorrento. The traffic was terrible, so we were only there long enough to quickly grab something to eat. A complete waste of time! Going only as far as the Limoncello factory would have provided the spectacular views and the limoncello experience, then straight on to Pompeii would have made a much better trip, either allowing more time at Pompeii or getting back to Rome earlier.

Muito tempo de estrada e pouco tempo nos passeios. Visita a Sorrento totalmente sem sentido, pois ficamos pouco mais de uma hora na cidade, não deu para aproveitar praticamente nada. Em Pompeia conseguimos ficar mais tempo, mas pela grandiosidade das ruínas, poderíamos ter ficado mais tempo também.

Walk through the Pompeii Archaeological Park with a guide

At Pompeii, you meet a local guide, walk the ancient streets and see well-preserved houses. You learn about daily life before Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79.

The site guide speaks either English or Spanish. French and Portuguese are guaranteed only when at least 10 people join on your travel date; otherwise the tour is in English for French and in Spanish for Portuguese. These two languages are offered only during the guided visit of the site.

Until October 31, stop in Sorrento for free time

The itinerary until October 31 includes a drive with coastal views and arrival in Sorrento. In Sorrento you have about 2 hours of free time to stroll the streets, and you taste limoncello at a local producer. You then continue to Pompeii for the guided tour and return to Rome.

From November 2, explore Pompeii in more depth

From November 2, you travel directly from Rome to Pompeii. With a licensed guide, you take an extended tour of about 2 hours 30 minutes inside the Pompeii Archaeological Park, exploring well-preserved ruins, frescoes and public spaces.

After the guided visit, you have free time before leaving for Rome.
