Just minutes from Aix-en-Provence, at the gateway to the Luberon, Château La Coste is an open-air cultural site with more than 40 contemporary artworks placed on vineyard hills. Your ticket covers the art and architecture walk on the estate and the special exhibitions. The recommended time is 2 to 3 hours.

Walk Between Vineyards and Olive Groves

Walk the 4 km trail across vineyards, olive groves and fragrant garrigue freely at your own pace. The path is partly shaded, and on arrival you receive a site map and a booklet to find the works and read about them.

Along the trail you find installations by masters of contemporary art and architecture, including Sophie Calle, Frank Gehry, Tadao Ando, Tracey Emin, Louise Bourgeois, Oscar Niemeyer and Bob Dylan. You can also enter temporary exhibitions in the pavilions, and there is a viewpoint with a view of the Luberon.

Guided Visit and Wine Tasting Are Also Mentioned

The inclusions mention an art and architecture guided tour and a tour of the wine cellar designed by Jean Nouvel. There is also an option to extend your visit with a live guide for about 2 hours, who leads you through the history of the winery from Roman times to monumental contemporary works. A wine tasting at the winery at the end of the tour is optional.
