Meet the legends of Istanbul
coming to life on stage

This live performance tells the city's legends, myths and forgotten voices through theater, music and lighting. Fifteen figures from Istanbul's history, from sultans to rebels, poets to mystics, take the stage in costume and tell their stories with a sound and light show.

Stories from myth: Medusa and the Maiden's Tower

The Medusa head in the Basilica Cistern comes to life, telling the story of Medusa, cursed by Athena to turn people to stone. You also discover the tragic love story of the Maiden's Tower, where a princess was locked away from a deadly snake according to a prophecy.

Scenes from history: conquest, flight and architecture

The show recreates Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror's conquest of Istanbul and Hezarfen Ahmed Çelebi's flight from the Galata Tower. It also introduces the legacy of architect Mimar Sinan, who built the Süleymaniye Mosque, and the history of Hagia Sophia from Byzantine church to mosque and museum.

Hürrem Sultan's dance and the whirling dervishes

The story of Hürrem Sultan, who influenced Ottoman history, is told through dance. The show ends with a whirling dervish performance following the teachings of Rumi. After the show, you can walk to the sights where the legends took place, such as Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and the Basilica Cistern.
