Meet your local host near the palace walls in Sultanahmet and walk together to the palace entrance for about 10 minutes. On the way, you hear a short 15–20 minute introduction to palace life, court traditions and the key areas not to miss. Your host has the tickets ready so you skip the ticket line, but the airport-style security check that all visitors go through is still required.
Explore the courtyards, the Treasury and the Sacred Relics
After entering, explore the palace freely. Visit the courtyards, the Imperial Council Chamber, the Imperial Treasury, the Sacred Relics and the terrace overlooking the Bosphorus in any order you like.
Step inside the Harem where the sultan's family lived
Your ticket also includes entry to the Harem, the private quarters where the sultan's family lived. For more details, listen to the multilingual audio guide app (English, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and more) on your smartphone as you explore.
