Dating back to Norman times, Windsor Castle stands on a wooded hill overlooking the River Thames. Admire the lavish State Apartments housing works by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and see Queen Mary's Dolls' House, complete with working lifts, running water and electricity. You spend about 2 hours at Windsor Castle, exploring freely with an audio guide available in several languages.
Visit St George's Chapel, resting place of royals
Also visit St George's Chapel, where past royals including Henry VIII are buried. It closes at 4 pm on weekdays, so it is best to visit it first when you arrive. After your visit, return to London by coach.
