On this shared tour with other travelers, you head to the mangrove-lined river in Loboc, Bohol after sunset to see the fireflies. Board a paddle boat or a motorized banca (traditional Filipino boat) and glide along the calm river as fireflies twinkle in the darkness.

Travel from Panglao to Loboc by air-conditioned vehicle

Meet at McDonald’s on Alona Beach Road in Panglao and ride an air-conditioned van to Loboc (about 1 hour). After the tour, the same vehicle takes you back to the starting point in about 1 hour; the whole tour lasts about 3.5 hours.

Learn about fireflies from a local guide

In Loboc, you spend about 2 hours with a local guide, who explains in English the fireflies' ecology and why protecting their natural habitat is important. Bring a camera if you'd like to take photos.
