Even a round trip from Sapporo to Asahikawa costs more than a rail pass, so if you are going to Biei Furano by train instead of taking a bus tour, be sure to buy the JR Furano Area Pass. Thanks to this pass, I had a really good train trip~

How to exchange the Sapporo-Furano Area Pass
The Sapporo-Furano Area Pass purchased from WAUG must be exchanged for an actual ticket at the local site using the exchange voucher. The main exchange locations are the JR Foreign Language Information Desk at Sapporo Station and the JR Foreign Language Information Desk at New Chitose Airport Station, but more than 75% of travelers exchange at the JR Foreign Language Information Desk at New Chitose Airport Station. There are staff members who can speak Korean, English, and Chinese, although they are not always present, and they exchange various pass tickets, including the Hokkaido Rail Pass.
