Meet the Real Bushido in Miyamoto Musashi's City

This is a samurai experience in Kumamoto where you can learn directly from Mr. Matsunaga, the 18th head of the Niten Ichiryū style. The moment you put on your dobok and enter the dojo, you will calmly refine everything from your breathing to your mindset. The composition is easy for beginners to follow, so you don't have to feel burdened even if it's your first experience.

Training Where Sword and Etiquette Become One

This experience doesn't just repeat techniques. While learning basic stances and cutting motions, you will physically understand the spirit of Bushido, the sword for protection. In the middle, calm your mind with matcha and Japanese sweets, and put your will and concentration into every movement. After training, receive a handkerchief with your name on it and a certificate of completion to cherish the meaning of the day for a long time.

A Route to Walk with Musashi's Footsteps

Musashi stayed in Kumamoto in his later years and wrote 『The Book of Five Rings』 in Reigando. The dojo is located right next to Kumamoto Castle, so you can explore the castle before and after the experience and naturally connect the history of the city with today's training. The path of the sword and the scenery of Kumamoto overlap, making the day even clearer.

Brief Introduction to the Schedule

• Arrival & Changing — Change into dobok (approx. 10 minutes)

• Orientation — Learn about the spirit of Bushido and the outline of Iaido with matcha (approx. 10 minutes)

• Master's Demonstration — Watch performance in the dojo (approx. 5 minutes)

• Iaido Experience — Practice basic stances & cutting motions (approx. 50 minutes)

• Completion & Commemorative Photo — Certificate awarded, photo shoot (approx. 10 minutes)

• Changing & End — Change back into personal clothes and finish
