Upon arriving at Kansai Airport, I exchanged my pass and booked a reserved seat, which allowed me to travel to Okayama and Kurashiki without any issues. I only asked a staff member for a reserved seat on the first day; for the rest of my itinerary, I was able to conveniently reserve seats via a kiosk. A Japanese person I met in Kurashiki insisted that I must visit Himeji Castle, so I was able to get off the train on my way to Osaka to see it, which really highlighted the convenience of the pass. I was flustered because I hadn't checked the website beforehand to see where the Okayama Joy Pass could be used, so I couldn't use it at Korakuen Garden. Since I had to exchange the ticket at the nearby Prefectural Museum, I realized I couldn't use it on days when the museum was closed. In my panic, I ended up buying the Okayama Castle set ticket, which I couldn't use at the castle either. The website listed all the closing days, so if I had known, I could have prepared... However, I received a 1,500 yen Sunsute voucher at Okayama Station, which I used to buy souvenirs, so I definitely got my money's worth. Still, these passes were a great help to my trip.

6. Select your pass start date (up to one month in the future).
