Noboribetsu Bear Park is a bear-focused zoo on a mountaintop in Shikotsu-Toya National Park. Both the round-trip ropeway ride and park admission are included, so you can start your visit as soon as you exchange your QR code for a physical ticket on site on the day of use.

Ride a high-speed gondola to the summit

The only way to reach the Bear Park is the ropeway from the base station in the center of Noboribetsu Onsen town. The gondola climbs 1,260 m with a 300 m height difference in about 7 minutes, offering views of Hokkaido's nature. On windy days it may run more slowly, taking about 10 minutes one way.

See brown bears and cubs up close

At the First and Second Ranches you can watch large brown bears up close, and at the Baby Bear Ranch you can meet adorable cubs. If you buy the special bear snacks sold in the park, you can also feed the bears at the First Ranch, the Human Cage and the Second Ranch.

The Bear Park is reached by ropeway from the base station in the center of Noboribetsu Onsen town. From Sapporo Station, take the JR Muroran Line limited express to Noboribetsu Station (about 70 minutes); from New Chitose it takes about 60 minutes. From Noboribetsu Station, take a Donan Bus for about 15 minutes to Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Terminal, then walk about 5 minutes.
