Ricardo was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about Porto & Douro wines. Definitely recommend this tour.

It was great, loved the first two stops. The first was great at giving lots of info. Beautiful facility. The second was to the point, smaller, good pace for talking and driking. The last stop, the guide talked a lot... and since it was a long table, we were sitting at the end and could barely hear a thing. Our guide Kate was super nice, but based on other reviews, I expected more details about Porto/Gaia and less of a guide that just walked us from one place to another. That being said, we had a good time and would recommend this tour.

I booked the tour based on the port houses that were listed. We only attended one of the port houses in the list. While it was a nice experience, it wasn’t exactly what I signed up for.

Stroll for 3 hours with a local guide through Vila Nova de Gaia, the wine cellar district across the Douro River from central Porto. Visit three atmospheric wine houses and enjoy a total of 9 tastings of Port and Douro wines. Your guide explains the differences between the two wines, how they are made and how to taste them, and shares the history of the Douro Valley, known as one of the first demarcated wine regions. With a group of up to 20 people, you can comfortably ask questions along the way.

in Vila Nova de Gaia

The tour starts in front of the tourist office (Posto de Turismo) on the riverside promenade in Vila Nova de Gaia. Walk with your local guide through the streets lined with wine cellars and visit three wine houses one after another. This is a 3-hour walking tour with some walking in between.

Enjoy 9 tastings of Port and Douro wines

Visit Vasques De Carvalho, Fonseca Port Wine Cellars and Solar dos Dragos Porto & Douro Wines in turn, spending about 1 hour tasting wine at each house. With 9 tastings in total, you can compare the varieties and flavors of Port and Douro wines.
