Porto Departure: Douro Valley & Amarante Wine Tour (River Cruise Included)

We had an amazing day! A huge thank you to our fantastic host Katerina and our bus driver Vito. Our day was both informative and incredibly fun. Highlights included the beautiful handpicked vineyard and delicious lunch spot (the food was fantastic) and the simply stunning picturesque boat tour on the Douro River. We would absolutely recommend this activity to everyone. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy beautiful wine paired with traditional Portuguese food in the most gorgeous region. We give this activity five stars but that’s not nearly enough for this outstanding experience.

We enjoyed the humor and fantastic information from guide Carlos. Driver Miguel brought us everywhere safely. The harmony of these two fine men significantly enhanced the atmosphere in the comfortable Mercedes Sprinter 😃

It was a very fulfilling and enjoyable tour. We traveled from Porto city by van to overlook the magnificent scenery of the vineyards and take photos, followed by a one-hour cruise with snacks from a town along the Douro River, port wine tasting at a winery, and finally a light meal and stroll in the charming town of Amarante. Our guide, Miguel, made the 8 hours fly by with his fun explanations about Portuguese history and port wine. Highly recommended.

Miguel was the best tour guide you could ask for, super energetic and engaging throughout the entire day! This tour is well worth the money and fully surpassed our expectations. Everything was paced out and Miguel was super accommodating for what the group wanted to do (photo stop/coffees/lunch/etc.)
