Naha Departure: Kerama Islands 3 Snorkeling Tour

This was my first time booking with WAUG, and I’m honestly so glad I did.

The snorkeling tour to the Kerama Islands was absolutely breathtaking – crystal-clear waters, colorful reefs, and so many tropical fish!



I joined as a solo traveler, but the instructors made everything super easy and fun. They explained things clearly in English, and I never felt left out. The boat was clean, the gear was great quality, and the atmosphere on board was super chill.



We visited three different snorkeling spots, and each had its own vibe. One was perfect for spotting sea turtles – and yes, I saw one up close! 🐢



WAUG made the whole booking process smooth and stress-free. It was my first time using the app, but definitely not the last.

If you’re in Okinawa and love the ocean, this tour is a must.

I searched for snorkeling tours in the Kerama Islands. Some tours go all the way to the Kerama Islands, while others don't. There were some negative reviews, but I booked this tour because it actually went all the way there. The boat has two bathrooms and a hot shower, so you can take a quick shower. Drinking water is provided, but you'll need to bring your own lunch. There's a cooler for lunch. There were about 10 scuba divers and 20 snorkelers. The group was about 60% Westerners, 30% Japanese, and 10% Korean (our group was Korean). It didn't seem like a popular tour for Koreans. There were about 4-5 staff members. While they weren't particularly attentive, they were friendly and there were no major inconveniences. Basic English communication is sufficient. They provide rental equipment. We brought a GoPro, but they also seemed to rent it out. If you wear a wetsuit, you can go in the water without a life jacket. Of course, life jackets are available for rent. The tour takes you to three locations, and the water is incredibly clear. You can even spot sea turtles and small sharks. Overall, I think this was a decent tour.

I booked the Kerama Islands snorkeling tour through Wag, and I thought it was an overseas tour company, but I was surprised to find out it was a Japanese company! Lol But thanks to that, I didn't have to worry about the language at all, and the staff were very kind and I felt at ease. We went to three different spots and had the best experience swimming with colorful fish in the crystal clear water. I would recommend it to first timers too!

The Kerama Sea that you can enter by boat from Naha is actually prettier than the pictures. I almost cried because I was so touched when I saw the turtles at the first point...! The guide personally waved and showed me around in the sea, so I was able to capture all the scenes I couldn't miss. All the equipment was provided, and the wetsuits were in good condition. The water was clean, so the visibility was really good. I really recommend this tour!

I was worried because of the bad reviews, but we had a fun tour. My child was with us, and the guide took such good care of us that we were very touched!
