Elliot was our guide and he has been amazing, he explained everything on the way, give us enough time to enjoy all of the activities and kept us in schedule. The activities themselves were quite enjoyable, and one of my favorite parts was spotting the wallabies along our way. Definitely recommend.

The knowledge of John was good. I was a little disappointed with the penguin parade, couldn't really see the penguins.

This was a great tour! The penguin parade was wonderful. The best part is getting to see them very close as they head for their warrens. We were probably a foot away on boardwalks as the penguins waddled to their dens. Don't stay on the beach too long as the best part of this is on the boardwalks off the beach. And the sounds! And the stars! Amazing! I would have changed some things about the tour though. I would cut the beach stop to create more time at the nature reserve (which was great but we had only 50 minutes there) and also have had a bit more time at the penguin parade. The penguins came in around 5:45 pm this time of year and we had to leave at 6:45, but 7:15 would have made for a much more relaxed visit. Also we were encouraged to pre-order food from an italian place so it would be ready when we arrived, but the orders only went in when we got there. Pizza was fine but not great, so I wish I'd gone for a burger instead. John our driver was funny and informative. Recommend!

John the guide was lovely and very funny! Trip was amazing very scenic and the penguin parade was incredible. Fed wallabies and kangaroos at the sanctuary. Would definitely recommend!

Depart Melbourne for
a Phillip Island wildlife adventure

Depart from the Melbourne pickup point you selected when booking (Immigration Museum, Nomads St Kilda, The Savoy Hotel or Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens) and travel about 75 minutes by coach. An English-speaking guide accompanies you, and pickup times vary by season.

Meet native animals at Moonlit Sanctuary

Your first stop is Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you'll spend about 1 hour meeting kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and a variety of native birds. Learn fascinating facts about koalas during a ranger presentation and explore the sanctuary at your own pace. You can also purchase a koala photo experience with an expert if you wish.

Take in the coastal scenery of Cape Woolamai and the Nobbies

Stop at Cape Woolamai Beach for about 15 minutes to enjoy ocean views, watch the surfers and feel the sea breeze. Then head to the Nobbies for about 30 minutes, following a boardwalk overlooking dramatic cliffs and rugged seas, and look out for fur seals at Seal Rocks, Australia's largest fur seal colony. Depending on the season, you may see migrating whales in winter or penguin chicks waiting in their burrows in summer.

Watch the Penguin Parade at Summerland Beach

In the evening, head to the Penguin Parade at Summerland Beach. From the general viewing area, watch little penguins emerge from the sea at sunset and cross the sand to their burrows. A free audio guide is available in 14 languages. Afterward, travel about 2 hours by coach back to your drop-off point in Melbourne.
