The workshop takes place at Gatmoru, a family-run brewery in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. Learn about the history of Korean traditional drinks, which were once brewed at home, and how this tradition is being preserved today.

Brew your own makgeolli with traditional techniques

Guided by a local expert, you'll craft your very own makgeolli using time-honored techniques. You'll also try straining fermented makgeolli (350ml).

Taste premium traditional drinks and hear their stories

After the hands-on session, enjoy a tasting of a diverse selection of premium traditional drinks. Hear stories about the cultural significance of each drink and its brewing process, and gain a deeper understanding of Korean traditional liquor.

※ Tastings are limited to adults of legal drinking age. Participants under 18 join the makgeolli-making experience only.
