GYG매력포인트
This 1.5-2 hour visit lets you watch wrestlers' morning practice just a few steps away at Tamanoi-beya, a real sumo stable. Feel the sounds and intensity of real training with no commentary or music, from earth-shaking shiko stomps and teppo strikes on a wooden pillar to body-crashing butsukari geiko. An expert guide explains sumo's history, techniques and rituals, and depending on the day you can take photos with the wrestlers. Choose between the Tokyo stable and the Fukuoka lodging used during the Kyushu Basho.
프로그램
Meet your guide outside Tamanoi-beya
and enter the sumo stable
Meet your guide holding a sign with the tour name in front of the stable entrance. The Tokyo option takes place at Tamanoi-beya in Nishiarai, Adachi, Tokyo, and the Fukuoka (Hakata) option at the Tamanoi-beya lodging used during the Kyushu Basho.
Watch real morning practice just steps away
Sumo is a centuries-old ritual rooted in Shinto, and the dohyo itself is a sacred space. See and hear shiko stomping, teppo palm strikes on a pillar and butsukari geiko, where wrestlers repeatedly crash into their training partners. With an expert guide by your side, even first-timers can enjoy it comfortably.
Take photos with the wrestlers
After practice, you may take commemorative photos with the wrestlers depending on the day. Those who choose the add-on can enjoy chanko nabe, the source of the wrestlers' strength, with them and learn more about their daily life.
※ The tour may be shortened depending on the wrestlers' schedule.
