BESTWe booked the combo to skip lines and it was worth it. Sainte-Chapelle is absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever seen. Conciergerie was less flashy but historically fascinating. If you're into French history and revolutionary era, this combo gives you both beauty and depth. Muy recomendable.

A Hidden Gem of Paris,
Sainte-Chapelle
Sainte-Chapelle, with its splendid and mysterious atmosphere, is one of the greatest architectural monuments representing Western architectural history. Inside, 15-meter-high stone pillars and 15 stained glass windows facing the ornately decorated ceiling inspire immediate awe. These stained glass windows depict biblical stories and the history of the French kingdom at the time, each with different images.
Don't miss the moment when the stained glass windows, filled with a thousand stories, touch the light!
The History of Sainte-Chapelle

Built by Louis IX, Sainte-Chapelle was constructed in just seven years, from 1242 to 1248. A prime example of Gothic style, it was originally built as a royal chapel for the king and his family.
The interior of Sainte-Chapelle is divided into the first and second floors. The chapel at the entrance is for the general public, while the second floor, accessible by stairs, was used by the royal family or privileged classes. The magnificent stained glass windows we know are located on the second floor, a place called 'the treasure of Paris.' In person, you can truly witness its overwhelming size and beauty.
Stained Glass Windows: See as Much as You Know

Here it is! The stained glass windows on the second floor. They are 14m high and consist of 15 windows. What you should pay attention to here is the decoration of the windows. No less than 1,134 scenes based on the Bible are depicted, decorated in chronological order from the story of Moses to Jesus Christ crucified!
If you visit during the day, the light coming through the windows is so magnificent and beautiful that you might think, 'It's the light shining from God.'
The Historic Conciergerie

A place that has played a historical role from the Middle Ages to the present day, the Conciergerie is also a must-see on your trip to Paris. Originally used as a royal palace and major administrative center from the 10th century, it also became a courthouse from the time of Charles V.
The place where law and justice were executed became infamous during the French Revolution. Used as a prison at the time, nobles and politicians such as Marie Antoinette were imprisoned and sent to the guillotine. Today, the room where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned is preserved as a memorial, and you can see both the grandeur of the medieval royal palace and the dark history of the revolution.
From Royal Palace to French Revolution

The historic Conciergerie is a place where you can learn about the complex history of France. You can see the living conditions of the medieval royal palace and the history of the French Revolution, focusing on its function as a prison leading to the guillotine. Explore in detail the changed roles of French courts and buildings from the Middle Ages to the present day.
