BESTThe KakaoTalk messages sent in advance by our Korean guide before we even arrived in Cancun, covering things like what to bring, directions, and schedules, were incredibly helpful for preparing for the trip. It was the absolute best! 👍👍 While researching cenote tours, I noticed that most just involve a quick swim at Ik Kil Cenote, so I was looking for something more active. That's when I found a tour where we could experience rappelling, ziplining, slides, diving, canoeing, snorkeling, and even swimming through the jungle! Since I enjoy rock climbing, I pay a lot of attention to safety equipment. Throughout the tour, I could clearly feel that they were taking great care to prevent accidents, seeing everything from harnesses and double belaying to fresh gear and the deployment of lifeguards. It really put my mind at ease. 👍👍👍 I think it would be perfect to enjoy with children as well. We wore life jackets from start to finish throughout the entire tour! We moved between four different cenotes, and the tour was packed with activities that kept us entertained without a single dull moment. It was truly amazing and incredibly fun. Instead of a large group tour, one local guide was assigned to each small team. It was great just knowing our team's faces made it easy to follow along haha. From pickup to the end of the tour, they looked after everyone by name to ensure no one was left behind, and I was infinitely touched by how much they cared to make sure everyone had a great time. I was able to truly enjoy the trip. It seems like people usually combine the Pink Lagoon, Chichen Itza, and Ik Kil Cenote tours, but if you don't want to waste time traveling and want a more active and fulfilling water experience, I highly, highly recommend this!! Even though I skipped parks like Scarlet Park and Xel-Ha and only did the Jungle Boat Tour and Cenote Tour, it was still a very rewarding trip. 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

Cenotes in Cancun, Mexico

Cenotes, meaning sacred well, are natural wells formed when the limestone layer of the Yucatan Peninsula weakens and collapses, exposing the cave. The water in the cenotes is very beautiful, with various colors such as turquoise, dark blue, and emerald, depending on the direction of sunlight. Various cenotes are hidden in the Cancun area, and it is fun to discover new cenotes because each area has different ecological characteristics.
