Dutch printmaker Moritz Cornelis Escher is an artist known for his unique geometric prints and optical illusions. Escher used geometric patterns, symmetry, and repetition to create elaborate structures that are impossible in reality, or to create works that stimulate the imagination using optical illusions.

The Escher Museum is located in a space that was built in the 18th century and was used by the Dutch royal family for a long time. The museum, located in an old palace that has been renovated into a modern exhibition space, is great because you can experience the royal architecture style in addition to simply viewing the art pieces.

Come see a variety of works at the Escher Museum! You can see over 130 works including woodcuts, sketches, drawings, and illustrations by Escher, and you can also see works by other artists besides Escher, along with the collection of Queen Emma of the Netherlands, which is stored in the palace.
