A must-see performance in Rome,
St. Paul's Cathedral La Traviata
When you arrive in Rome, I highly recommend seeing a performance of La Traviata at the legendary St. Paul's Cathedral. La Traviata is an opera that is considered one of the representative works of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi and consists of three acts. It started in Venice and is now being performed all over the world.
Special performances held at the cathedral
La Traviata opera, held in the iconic chapel of St. Paul's Cathedral, provides an unforgettable experience in Rome. It gives a grand feeling that is different from that of an opera hall.
solid story
The main story of La Traviata is as follows.
A party is held at the home of Violetta, the flower of Parisian society. Alfredo, a young nobleman, falls in love with Violetta after seeing her at a party. However, Violetta suffers from lung disease and has lived a life steeped in momentary pleasure, so she hesitates to accept his innocent courtship. However, thanks to his persistent courtship, the two begin living together in the outskirts of Paris. However, Violetta pays living expenses on behalf of Alfredo, who has no sense of living, and soon runs out of funds. When Alfredo finds out about this, he leaves the house for a while to find money, and in the meantime, his father, Germont, comes to visit Violetta.
He asks them to separate for the sake of their son's future, and Violetta follows his words. As she hurriedly leaves, leaving behind only a note, Alfredo realizes that she has disappeared and thinks that she abandoned him for money. The two meet again at a fancy party in Paris, and Alfredo insults Violetta by throwing away the money he won through gambling. Germont appears and scolds his son for his rudeness, and reveals that Violetta's departure was a misunderstanding. Violetta is now unable to recover from her illness. As she is dying, she meets Alfredo again, and they miss the beautiful times of the past, but Violetta eventually dies.
