Explore the world of cinema!
The Mole Antonelliana, Turin's architectural symbol, was initially conceived as a Jewish synagogue but was purchased by the city to create a monument to national unity. Designed and started in 1863 by architect Alessandro Antonelli, the building was not completed until 1889.
At 167.5 m high at the time, the Mole Antonelliana was the tallest stone building in Europe. In 1961, a panoramic lift was opened to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Italian unification. Renovated in 1999, the building still allows visitors to climb to the small temple at 85 meters and enjoy exceptional views of the city and the surrounding Alps.
Be sure to visit the panoramic terrace by climbing the stairs in the Cupola Hall!
