You've all probably heard of the Tripitaka in Journey to the West. The Daci'en Temple in Xi'an is where the Tripitaka, the monk Tripitaka stayed.
The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is built in Daci'en Temple in 652 during the Tang Dynasty by Monk Tripitaka to store Buddhist scriptures and Buddhist statues brought from India. Visit Daci'en Temple, a place with Buddhist significance that has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Daci'en Temple was founded in 645 by Emperor Gaozong of Tang to commemorate his mother, Empress Mundeok. Later, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda was built at Daci'en Temple to store Buddhist scriptures and Buddhist statues brought by Tripitaka when he returned from India.
This Daci'en Temple is an important place where Buddhist scriptures brought from India were translated and Buddhism developed in China. Come visit Daci'en Temple, a center of learning and a place where the life of Tripitaka is enshrined!
