Beppu's only beachfront sand bath, boasting a history of 100 years, has been newly renovated as Sand SPA. When you leave your body in the warm sand, a gentle warmth is transmitted, and Beppu's tranquil sea scenery unfolds before your eyes. Enjoy the ultimate relaxation experience where the fatigue of everyday life melts away and your body and mind become deeply warmed. The highlight, sand bathing, is a healing experience where you can feel Beppu's nature while being warmly covered in warm sand. It is operated in the best condition at all times by filling it with hot spring water about 9 times a day for about 30 to 40 minutes, removing impurities, and then heating the sand. Also, it is carried out by changing the location so that the same sand is not used repeatedly, so you can always use it cleanly. It is known to be effective for the following symptoms!

 Sand SPA Facility Information

Sand Bath Zone (砂湯 / Sand Bath Zone)
This is the main space located right in front of Beppu Bay, where you can leave your body in the warm sand and feel a comfortable warmth. The sand bath, which lasts for about 15 minutes while listening to the sound of the waves, is effective in relieving fatigue and improving blood circulation. The sand is re-heated at regular intervals every day, and you can experience it cleanly and comfortably while maintaining hygienic conditions. After the sand bath, you can continue to enjoy a hot spring bath in the shower area and large public bath.

Shower Space (シャワースペース / Shower Space)
This is a space to cleanly wash off the sand from your body after the sand bath. Basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided, and you can wash away the sand and fatigue at the same time with warm water.

Changing Room & Makeup Counter (脱衣所 & メイクカウンター / Changing Room & Makeup Counter)
A spacious and clean changing area is provided so you can change your clothes comfortably. Various amenities such as hair dryers, skin care, and hair care products are also available, making it a great place to get ready after a bath.

Large Hot Spring Bath (大浴場 / Large Hot Spring Bath)
This is a space where you can slowly soak in the hot spring and enjoy complete relaxation after the sand bath and shower. The scenery of Beppu Bay unfolds at a glance beyond the large bathtub, and you can enjoy a relaxing hot spring bath while looking at the sea. Hot spring water has various effects such as relieving muscle fatigue, promoting blood circulation, and relieving stress.

Lobby & Bar (ロビー＆バー / Lobby & Bar)
This is a relaxation space where you can take a break after the experience. After bathing, spend a relaxing time with a drink at the bar in the facility. A cup of relaxation while looking at the quiet sea of Beppu will help you forget the fatigue of your trip.

Foot Bath (足湯 / Foot Bath)
Next to the facility, there is a foot bath that anyone can use for free. You can enjoy a warm foot bath using hot spring water and lightly experience the atmosphere of Beppu.

Usage information

Step 01
Please arrive 15 minutes before your reserved time.
When it is your reservation time, the staff will guide you, and you can change into a special yukata in the dressing room.

Step 02
Now enjoy the sand bath.
When you lie down on the warm sand, the staff will cover you with sand, and you can comfortably experience the sand bath for about 15 minutes while listening to the sound of the waves.

Step 03
Wash off the sand from your body and yukata in the shower room.

Step 04
Enjoy a hot spring bath in the large public bath. You can soak in the hot spring and feel the warmth deeply and take a comfortable rest.

Step 05
When you change your clothes, the use is finished, and you can also enjoy a relaxing drink at the bar located separately. (additional charge)
