Travel through the scenic Dandenong Ranges in open-air carriages, surrounded by tall trees and ferns. Experience the charm of a vintage steam train journey as you cross the Monbulk Creek Trestle Bridge, a signature section of the Puffing Billy route. If safety regulations permit, you can even enjoy the iconic Puffing Billy experience of sitting on the side of the open carriage with your legs dangling out.

Enjoy Lakeside and Emerald Lake before returning in the early afternoon

After arriving at Lakeside by train, enjoy free time at Emerald Lake Park. Take a leisurely stroll around the lake or capture photos, soaking in the relaxed atmosphere of the Dandenong Ranges.

You can explore the Lakeside Visitor Centre or grab a coffee and a snack at a cafe at your own expense. After your free time, reunite with your guide to travel back to Melbourne by vehicle.
