From dazzling performance costumes and instruments to stage set models, scripts, and puppets, as well as personal items used by artists, you can get a close look at a variety of materials. Some of these items are being publicly displayed for the first time through this exhibition.

Highlights include Kylie Minogue's gold hot pants worn in the 'Spinning Around' music video, the neon red L'Amour sign created by Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin for Opera Australia's 'La Bohème', and the drum kit of Rob Hirst, drummer for Midnight Oil – iconic pieces that symbolize Australian popular culture and performing arts history.

The exhibition covers a wide range of genres, including opera, ballet, theatre, circus, dance, music, and popular entertainment. You'll also encounter stories of various figures who have left a significant mark on Australian performing arts, such as Olivia Newton-John, Hugh Jackman, Nick Cave, Helen Reddy, Peter Allen, Nellie Melba, and Joan Sutherland.
