Heidelberg Castle & Old Town Small Group Day Tour from Frankfurt

Great. Tour guide had tons of knowledge about the places we visited and was a great experience.

While the guide and driver were certainly very friendly and helpful, we were a big group on the day so been separated to two vans. The background info that the guide shared during the road can only be shared through a call with the driver, which not a very easy to hear sometimes. With all background information available online, i would expect more stories from a local perspective, and more time for the town trip. Also, the food of the recommended restaurant wasn’t very nice and caused a bit diarrhea for my partner. That said, we like the castle view and in general it’s still worth the money:)

turned out to be only 2 peole in the group and the guide was very personalized. I appreciated the history on the toad to the site and the details of the castle remains.

Excellent. Our guide Gunter was all most the highlight, if it wasn’t for the Castle. To be fair, you could spend half a day at the Castle, and the other half in the main tourist / restaurant area. We weren’t rushed, but now that I’ve been, I’d take longer next time. Thank you for a great tour Gunter.

Michael really knew history and shared a lot of that as background on the drive. That meant we had more time to explore without having to cluster around him once we got to the castle. I liked his style of explaining and then giving us time to wander on our own at various points. Our small group (5 people) had a really friendly dynamic, and as a solo traveler, I enjoyed the English-speaking company almost as much as the charming place. I’m sure I could have happily spent more time there, but the tour did not feel rushed and still got us back with most of the afternoon to do other things.
