At your booked time, board the round-trip ferry to Alcatraz at Pier 33. The ferry departs exactly at the scheduled time, so please arrive at Pier 33 30 minutes before departure. Pier 33 is easy to reach on foot, by bike, or by public transport, while parking can be hard to find.

Explore the federal penitentiary
with the "Doing Time" audio tour

On the island, follow the 45-minute "Doing Time" cellhouse audio tour through the Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary. Trace the footsteps of notorious criminals once held here, including Al Capone, and hear the stories of former inmates.

The audio tour is available in Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Dutch.

Cruise the San Francisco waterfront
on a 60-minute bay cruise

Join a one-hour San Francisco Bay cruise, sailing past the sea lions of Pier 39 along the historic waterfront. Pass under the Golden Gate Bridge and enjoy the city skyline and major landmarks from the water.

The bay cruise can be taken at Pier 39 before or after your Alcatraz tour on the same day, or on another available departure date. Please exchange your voucher at the Blue & Gold Fleet ticket office.
