This guided tour takes you through the manatee habitat of Kings Bay in Crystal River, Florida, aboard a clear two-person kayak. Thanks to spring water that stays around 22°C (72°F) all year, you can look down into the clear water while searching for manatees and other wildlife. The tour runs in small groups of up to 6 at a relaxed pace, and you can choose to snorkel when conditions and regulations allow. With its focus on wildlife and conservation, it is a great way to observe manatees quietly up close.

Set off from Kings Bay Park
and paddle over clear spring water
Meet your guide at the kayak launch in Kings Bay Park for a safety and paddling orientation before heading out. Two guests share one clear tandem kayak and explore Kings Bay with a local kayak guide for about 2 hours 30 minutes.
Kings Bay is fed by freshwater springs that stay around 22°C (72°F) all year. The transparent hull lets you look straight down into the water as you paddle.
Look for manatees and the wildlife of Kings Bay

In cold weather, manatees gather in the warm waters of Kings Bay. Manatee season runs from November 15 to March 31. Besides manatees, you may spot herons and cormorants, ospreys and bald eagles, tarpon and turtles, and occasionally dolphins.
The tour focuses on wildlife and conservation. Please follow your guide's instructions and the manatee protection rules, and never touch, chase, surround or disturb the manatees.
Explore the Three Sisters Springs area
and snorkel when conditions allow

When water temperatures and sanctuary regulations allow, you will explore around Three Sisters Springs. In cold winter periods when the Gulf water drops to 18°C (64°F) or below, Three Sisters Springs may operate as a manatee sanctuary closed to people, and the tour will explore other permitted areas of Kings Bay instead.
When conditions and regulations allow, you can choose to snorkel. Guides do not enter the water with you, and snorkel gear and wetsuits are not included but can be rented on site.
A safe tour that follows the weather and wind

For safety, the tour is run while monitoring weather and wind. Under 10 mph (16 km/h) is comfortable, 10–15 mph requires moderate effort and 15–20 mph is challenging. Above 20 mph, the tour may be rescheduled.
※ Manatees are wild animals living in their natural habitat, so sightings are not guaranteed.
※ Sanctuary access, snorkeling and water clarity depend on water temperature, weather and regulations and are not guaranteed.
※ If the operator cancels due to unsafe weather, you can reschedule or receive a credit valid for up to 2 years.
